The Bose Wave CD Player will play CD's purchased from store but will also play burnt CD's. It will also play MP3's. It has an open CD slot on the front of the stereo. The sounds from the stereo are always clear and never booming. The Wave is known for its loudness but not for the nerve-racking boom noise, which you get from a lot of stereos.
