opinions on sound system?
i have a 92 300zx (hatchback) that came with 2 infinity speakers in the back and 2 stock bose speakers in the front. i want a sound system that focuses more on highs/mid range than bass. i plan 2 buy better speakers in the front+good tweeters. any suggestions? also i just bought a 1500 watt rockford fosgate amp. i only want 2 10" subs since i dont want the bass 2 drown out the words and instruments. i am going 2 put the 10s in a custom made box on the side of my trunk walls. so i am going 2 buy temporary subs either 2 12" pioneers(1200watt) or 2 15" fosgates. which 1 would b the better choice?? also what are some good brands and what do they specialize in (highs/bass/vocals/etc). ty
are rockford fosgate amps good? since ive heard that getting the same brand amp+subs=better sound

System design freebie from an expert: Always have more power running to your fronts than you do to your subs. You said you don't want to drown out your fronts. This is impossible to do if all you have is a big fat bass amp. You need to do a sweet amp to your mids and tweets. Also, if you're looking for a great brand for speakers and/or amps, then I suggest Focal. They handbuild everything in France, and it's bad to the bone stuff man. Rockford's a great company too, but they're not soundquality oriented. They'll give you the most bang for your buck though. I will suggest that you listen to different things though. Get an idea of what you like. Also, it depends on your music choice. Some speakers sound better on rap than rock, and vise verse. Rockford for instance is great for rap, but if you like a ton of country or rock, or blues, or whatever, I would do the Focal. It's spendy, but worth every penny. And if you listen to iPod then prepare yourself because nothing you buy is gonna sound good.
