I have bought a yamaha 7.1 amplifier. Is bose home theatre system good enought for the money given?

To answer your question, Sony would sound better. But honestly, Bose and Sony are probably the 2 worst choices you could make unless you're just going for an attractive-looking design. You can get Polk, Klipsch or Infinity speakers for less money and get far far far far better performance than Bose or Sony.
From experience, Bose speakers sound unnaturally crisp to me, they just don't sound realistic. I'd never buy a set of them full-price. Sony speakers sound dull to me.
I've heard this set of Polk speakers and it outperforms every Bose system I've heard in every way imaginable.
