I Have HP 2009m Monitor, Can I connect my Bose MusicMonitor speakers to it?

I tried setting up the speakers but they will not produce sound. When I would plug in the audio cord to the monitor, I would hear a sound come from the speakers but that is it. Does the HP 2009m have HDMI connection or does that even matter?

It doesn't look like you can. The monitor has built-in speakers and has a single audio input jack (the one you're probably trying to plug your speakers into) that accepts audio input signal from the computer through the included audio cable to provide the audio for the internal speakers. If there isn't an output audio connection on the monitor, then you can't hook up speakers to your monitor, it just wasn't designed for it. If there is an output jack, then you could hook up your external speakers, but you also need to have the audio cable connected from the computer to the monitor audio input jack to get the audio signal.

Otherwise, you'd have to hook up your external speakers to the computer's audio output connector to get any sound.
