How does the bose soundwave work?

I was thinking about the technology in their speakers and thinking about adapting it to work on a guitar, if I could figure out how they do it. I like the idea of getting a guitar to sound "larger than life" sort of like bose speakers do.....

I just wanted to add: the WaveGuide concept is a patent by Bose... It is very similar to other speaker manufacturers that use "Transmission Line" concept... essentually, they are the same.

These Transmission Line concepts is almost like a muffler on a car engine. It causes back pressure and muffles the sound, causing the engine's sound to be a lower, less resonating, less annoying sound.

In the case of your guitar, this concept may not work, since there is really not much pressure from the guitar strings - which is causing the sound thru vibrations. In speakers, the woofers move - causing air pressure.

what amp and sub woofer should I get for my car?

true that they perform at their best with out dimming your lights much unlike kicker those are some power hungry subs that will dim your lights alot and have some bad sound quality

i bought the klipsch hdt500 HD Theater 500 5.1-Channel Home theater Speaker system with Powered sub woofer, a set of bose 301 series v, and the vsx1020k pioneer receiver what do you think of this set up in a 300sq ft room 8ft ceiling and where do you think i should place the bose 301 in the front back......

Your Klipsch set has the living room covered for 5.1. The 301's aren't the right speakers to bring your living room up to 7.1. If you really want 7.1 in this room, add identical Klipsch speakers. Use the 301's as zone 2 speakers in another room.

speakers dont work when hooked up with Receiver?

I hooked up my old Sony receiver with my even older speakers and subwoofer. The only thing working is my old Bose center speaker? They were working before I disconnected them and moved them.

Well .... not much detail.

Unless you broke something since you disconnected them (not particularly likely) it's probably either a setting or connection problem.

Check that all the speakers are wired correctly (both wires for each firmly attached to the correct terminals on the receiver and the speaker, no shorts).

Check you have any speaker selector switches set correctly.

It sometimes helps to just use stereo and get the main speakers working before worrying about surround.

Not much more I can suggest without more info. Good luck.

you might have to get it straight from the back speakers especially with bose. but for gm the back speaker wires should be right side dark blue + and light blue - and the left side should be brown + and yellow -
