Keep in mind you are kind of comparing apples to oranges. The Bose Cinemate system is two speakers and a sub that operates from the audio out of your television. The cinemate will be limited by the quality of the pre-outs on your television and other equipment. Furthermore, it can only simulate surround sound. The Onkyo system is a complete home theater system with all the connections to hook up your devices using digital connections for the best possible sound. Unless you have a wiring or space constraint, the Onkyo system will blow the cinemate out of the water.
