What means when an aviation headset is TSO certified?
Hi, somebody could tell me what means when an aviation headset is TSO certified???
Can I use a non certified headset at a Boeing 737 or an Airbus???
For example Sennheiser says than their headsets are TSO certified, Bose too but lightspeed zulu not.
If you are flying that Boeing or Airbus for a Pt. 121 (airline) operation you can use the non TSO'd Headset if the aircraft is equipped with speakers and a microphone for communications.
IF so equipped (all will be) having the equipment becomes the PRIMARY means of comm so use of a non TSO headset is a moot point as far as the regulations are concerned.
The specific airline company you work for, may forbid their use, but that is a company policy, not a regulation.
