What's wrong with my Bose Companion II speakers?
So my left speaker tends to make these weird static noise every now and then (almost sounds like a squirrel speaking!). It happens very frequently, and it's pretty quiet. What's wrong with it? Is there anything I can do to prevent it from happening or do something so it doesn't get worse?
The speakers are hooked up to my desktop, and have no "off button", just a knob to turn the volume up/down,so whenever im done, i just turn them down. I bought them on boxing day in 2008.
Sounds like Cel phone interference. Is your cel phone close to the speakes when this happens?? Keep your phone away from your speakers and this shouldn't happen anymore.
The Bose companion 2 should be magnetically sheilded, but the sheilding is not 100% ... This interference will not hurt the speakers.
A good test will be: dial a number on Cel, press send, then while the call is live, put the Cel close to the affected speaker and listen for the squirrel... If he's there, then u know cause.
