Home theater Question?

I want to know which speaker system sound better for a medium sized room. I was looking at the Klipsch HD Theater 500 and the Bose Lifestyle V20 system. I was at Best Buy and there was the bose display that sounded awesome. However the sales representative said that Bose is overrated and the Klipsch system is about the best. The Klipsch is also about $600 compared to $2000 for the Bose. Which sounds the best?

Amazingly the Best Buy got it mostly right. In my experience, people who know audio are never satisfied with Bose. We tend to be purists of a sort and want a more accurate sound than Bose provides. Bose tends to "flavor" the sound the way they think average listeners want to hear it. As you yourself said it "sounded awesome". You would never have known that they are "overrated" unless the salesman had said it, and kudos to him for saving you money. The majority of people who buy the Bose, take it home and are happy. Now you get to save your money for something better and have change left over.
