Noise cancelling headphones?

I am 21 and have 2 roommates that are loud(talk loud, slam doors, tvs turned up) and dont listen when I tell them to be quiet when I am sleeping or dont think they are being loud. I have tried ear plugs most of the time they either fall out or dont feel good in my ear. So I am thinking about noise cancelling headphones like bose quiet comfort 3. Do these headphones actually keep sound out good and are they comfortable to sleep with????

Noise cancelling headsets do work, but they don't cancel all sounds. They only cancel a small part of the audio spectrum, mostly the lower frequencies that you get when flying in a jet. I've looked in the past and I haven't been able to find a headset that cancels all sound. I suspect it's a safety issue. You wouldn't hear any alarms or other noises that could indicate danger to you. Your only option really is to find quiet roommates. They are out there, you just need to look a bit. When I was in college there were quiet dorms available for those students that were there to actually study.
