Car Audio: Wiring help!!!?
I have a 2008 Nissan Maxima with bose audio & navigation. The bose audio comes with an amp. I want to add another amp to power 2 some subs I have. Options:
Of coures I will run positive power to battery and get good ground.
1) can i splice bose amp remote wire for my aftermarket amp remote wire?
1a) can i splice what would be the RCA cables of the bose up for my after market amp rca's?
2) should i just add a crossover(so bose system runs highs, despite bose system comes with 2 small subs)?
2a) If i add a crossover how do I hook it up to the bose amp?
2b) If crossover where would I run my aftermarket amp remote wire?
2c) if crossover my aftermarket amp RCA will run to the crossover correct?
Please add any other suggestion you might have!!! Thanks!!!
I would stay away from the whole crossover situation. You CAN splice the remote wire for your aftermarket amp wire.
For your rca wires, do not "splice" them. Get two "y" adaptors and use that. It will not affect the voltage that goes through them, that is your best bet.
I would use your bose amplifier to power all of the speakers (not subwoofers..) in your car. Then, get your other amp, and use that to power your subwoofers.
