Gold Plated Headphone Jack? whats the difference from normal ones?
I have a Bose QC15 and it has a gold plated headphone jack. After using for almost a year, the plated gold on the jack is getting away from too much plug in and take out. will this affect the sound quality of the headphone? shall i replace the cable, or there is nothing much different?

You won't here the difference between nickel and gold.
Gold may be better - yes, but only by only -.01%.
If you were in a professional Studio environment - when accuracy is key, then by all means, replace the wire.
But you are using Bose - which the anti-accuracy of the audio industry... so the lack of gold plating will probably improve your sound quality.
The QC15's noise cancellation is NUTS! - best in the industry.... but mannn ! - is the sound ever fatiguing and the vocals are sooo recessed that all music becomes synthetic.
Anyways, don't worry about it.
And when you have a chance, just buys some Sennheiser, AKG, Grado, Beyer dynamic from a place with 30day return policy and compare it side by side with your Bose headphones and you'll know what I mean.
No offense, but with bose, you are missing the point.
Who knows, you may like the other brands soo much over the Bose - that you'll ebay the Bose and keep the next headphones that you bought as a test.
