Is it possible to connect a USB Device to a standard Television Set in way of adapter, or any other way?

ie. the new Bose Companion® 5 speaker system (www.bose.com) connects via USB, and I use a Sony TV Monitor as a small TV in the Den, I'd like to connect to the Monitor the Bose System.

To recap, is it possible to connect a USB device to a standard TV Set?

You can use your PC as an adapter. If your TV has a computer monitor jack, just set your TV as a second monitor. Then you can watch DVD's from your computer on your TV and listen through your Bose speakers connected to your PC. That alone will work for DVD's played on your computer, or other multimedia files. In this scenario, you would need a tuner card for your PC for about $100.00 for broadcast TV. There may be cheaper more direct ways to solve your situation, but that's how mine is set-up. My TV is HD with lots of jacks, but no USB ports.
