Is Bose Sound Dock 10 good quality for a home theater system?
or is it just for listening to i-pod?
Umm...
Ok.
Lets again, look at some FACTS first.
!
1. is that you asked, "Is Bose Sound Dock 10 good quality for a home theater system?"
GOOD for HT system.
2. is that although the Bose Sounddock 10 gets pretty loud and can fill a medium room with sound... quite frankly, the this sounddock 10 or any sounddock style system: - 1 unit, compact: cannot image very well, let alone simulate an HT system.
The sound will be coming from one spot.
OK - arguably, for stereo imaging [2channel stereo] - your regular flatscreen TV speakers are better: spread further apart than the Sounddock.
3. is that like other Bose products, their internals are highly budgeted and designed to be low cost manufacturing: compared to what they sell this for [OVER $500!!WOW] this is a fact...
FACT: The Bose sounddock 10 has 3 drivers in the fancy plastic/metal grill enclosure.
-2 twiddlers : one on each side of the enclosure that does the HIGHS AND MIDS... at the same time! They are PAPER drivers that measure a meager 2".
-1 subwoofer. in the middle... doing the lows+helping the mids. It measures: 5"... small but suffice - according to its output.
---AND!! excuse me, NO TWEETERS... none. those 2" paper drivers are suppose to do the highs and mids at the same time... ok, right.
4. It just can't do 5.1 similation NOR will it do even stereo - 2channel imaging.... just alot of random noise echoing in the room.
Please go and listen to it. Look at the price and compare it with what you can get with the same price or for a little more, you can get a decent quality 5.1 real surround sound system.
