I want a new music system. It needs to play cd's, DAB radio & have an ipod link. I was looking at Bose Wave sy?

I was looking at Bose wave system but reviews have put me off. Can anyone recommend a good alternative please? I won't say that cost is not an option but I know you get what you pay for. Also, I'm not very good with technical terms so please bear that in mind when replying. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Don't let the reviews discourage you from listening to the Bose Wave Music Systems to form your own opinion. Be clear on what you intend for the device to fulfill. Will it be located in your bedroom? Will it be in an office? Will it play softly throughout the house? Do you want ambience versus a party? Bose has its role and fulfills it admirably. However, it is up to you to know what you want from it. I have two Bose Wave Radio's one from 1998, the other from 2006, and a Bose Sounddock 10 recently and a Bose Companion 5. I can't recall when I brought the Bose headphones. I have gotten my money's worth.
I don't like the Bose link, nor the Bose Sounddock series below the Sounddock 10. I like the Bose Companion 20 Multimedia speaker. http://www.amazon.com/Bose-Companion-Multimedia-Speaker-System/dp/B0053T4PHC It sounds surprisingly good if you are looking for a near field speaker.

Besides Bose Kicker has a product called ikick 501, nice device, for just under $180. Kicker is a viable option to Bose. Its not as subtle but it can get the job done, and done well. Flaunce excellent product, excellent product. http://reviews.cnet.com/digital-player-speaker-docks/fluance-fisdk500-iphone-ipod/4505-12699_7-35 For $200, that too is a viable option over Bose. I would like to get that one too. lol.

Whatever you do listen for yourself, then make an informed decision.

Best.
