Somebody gave me a pair of BOSE cube speakers. Do i need anything else to use them effectively?
There are 4 small cubes about 5inch side ,two are paired together. so i have two pairs
They're just a pair of satellites that you would use with a subwoofer to provide the bass. But, the drivers (tweeters themselves) in the Bose cubes are so small that they don't reproduce the midrange very well. So, if you hook them with a standard subwoofer, the wound will be tinny and hissy, with no midrange presence. And, Bose bass modules (they aren't really subwoofers) tend to reproduce the midrange the cubes are missing. But, you then get a boomy, muddy bass that is typical of Bose systems.
