Is it necessary to "break-in" new speakers? (Bose Companion)?

Basically, I've been eying the Bose companion 3 series II & the companion 5 speakers for a while now.

After listening to the speakers in the store, I settled on the 3 series II b/c of 1) the cost & I figured that I could use the "surround" effects in Windows Media Player to substitute the surround feature of the companion 5.

Anyway, I've noticed at times the speakers leave something to be desired. On electronic/hip songs the music sounds great but on classical & pop the sound quality isn't that great. Is it true that new speakers need to be broken in? Should I upgrade the sound card in my computer? Or should I upgrade to the companion 5?

I'm kind of picky with audio quality so thorough tips are appreciated. I probably won't switch brands so don't mention others unless necessary.

Breaking a speaker in is mostly a myth, although there is a little truth to it (notice i said little, you wont notice a difference).

Yes, you can upgrade the sound card for better quality. Idk much about the bose speakers for computers, but i have a lifestyle system (i believe the 28 or something like that) for my surround system and its amazing.
