Will the wrong power adapter damage my speakers?
My neighbors recently gave me a pair of Bose Companion 2 Series II speakers because they couldn't find the power adapter for it. I just pulled a power adapter that happened to fit off a Linksys wireless router. Could using a different power adapter damage the speakers? They are both the same United States prongs. I'm not sure, though.
The power adapter says
Input: 120V 60Hz 23W
Output: 12VDC and 1000mA
The model number is D12-1A if that helps.

The voltage of your power supply should match exactly the voltage requirement of your speakers, or whatever you use it for. The amperage (the mA part) of the power supply should be the same as or more than the amperage requirement of whatever you use it on. The tip (inner) part of the connector should be the right polarity, positive or negative.
Those are the three things you have to match up. Otherwise you can damage your stuff.
