2003 Acura TL car stereo code wont work.?
I purchased a used '03 Acura TL roughly three years ago, last week the battery died and the stock anti theft Bose stereo requires a code. I went to the dealership, and they weren't able to unlock it, and told me they will have to send it out and will cost me approx. one hour of labor $115 + the cost of repair which may be upto $300 and will take about 3 weeks, and that my better option would be just to purchase a new stereo. They gave me the serial number, and the two codes they think should have worked.
I would hate to buy a new stereo, did any one run into a similar situation or knows of a work around.
This is a known problem in 2nd generation (99-03) TL's. You need to disconnect the antenna b4 entering the code due to some sort of antenna interference. You can also try going to a place with little or no reception and trying entering the code, or just go through a tunnel and enter the code then.
