Help with car speakers!!? need lots of answers!!!!1?
i have a 1999 cadillac seville sts with bose audio system....after i turn off the car and step out of the car....it usually make a thuderous sound from the speakers and the subwoofer....the speakers vibrate...the noise sometimes goes away and comes back..what could it be...a short?....i hear clicking noises from the amp when i here those sounds from the speakers....i had some water in the trunk and the amp is located right behind the rear seat...there is no water but there is moisture...could it be because of moisture??? please help me out....and remember the CAR IS OFF!!
Water is the enemy of electronics. Even a little moisture can do damage and make contacts happen where and when they are not supposed to. It may be that your amp has moisture in it. Disconnect it ASAP before anything else. Let it dry out for awhile.
Next I would go through the system and trace all the lines that go from the amp to the speakers to be sure there are no holes in the wires that could be hitting the chassis and grounding out. Also be sure to check your connections to the battery and the head unit for holes and moisture.. If all those are OK and not wet then when the amp is dry hook everything back up and try it.
Chances are its water somewhere, good luck!
