Can I connect Bose Lifestyle system to Pioneer VSX516S receiver?
I want to use a Bose active subwoofer (that is a part of Lifestyle 12 system - that include a CD, this sub, and 5 sattelites that are connected to the sub) to my new receiver, Pioneer VSX516S. I had no problem with the 5 speakers (just connected them to receiver outputs), but could not connect the sub, as receiver has only pre-sub output, and subwoofer have no inputs but the unique Bose input.
Can anyone think of any configuration ideas? Thank you very much.
I know this system has an internal amplifier. The reason I wanted to bypass it is that it is an old model, no digital features but the speakers are good. I have this system for 5 years now, and wanted to save some money. Can I connect any receiver-output to any Bose input and get the lows?
You cannot use the propritary set up of a Bose lifstyle system to hook up a Bose acoustimass sub. You need the intigrated crossover in the Lifestyle"Receiver". And unless you are have a masters in electical engineering you will not be able to power one( no schematics no cross reference no nothing)
Look up on yahoo or google " why does Bose suck" and you will find LOADS of people who have finaly realzed BOSE suckered them into buying the crap they put out.
I realize this is not the answer you were looking for but you are better off replacing them with a nice timbre' match set from Klipsh or Boston Acoustics or even DEF tech, and if you have the money try Martin Logans I love mine!!
