How to set up Bose Surround sound with a home theater receiver?
I have just purchased a Denon Home theatre receiver which supports 7.1 surround sound. I am using a Bose center channel speaker, two Bose corner "cubes" as my front speakers, and a Bose sub-woofer. The center channel is wired directly to my Denon A/V receiver. However, front "cube" speakers are wired directly to the Bose Sub-Woofer, which splits the inputs to the sub, and the cubes. The inputs to the sub woofer are connected to my "front speakers" outputs on the Denon A/V.
My question is the following. Would I be better off wiring my Bose cubes directly to the Denon A/V receiver "front speaker" outputs, and connecting the sub-woofer to the sub-woofer output on the Denon, OR still using the Bose internal splitting out to the cubes?
Thanks
like mrk... said, your little cubes will be destroyed. they only handle about 30W peak, and a very specific frequency range controlled by your lifestyle system's signal processor. they are actually powered from your acustimass module which is not really a subwoofer. if you want to use the denon, then sell your bose system and buy all new speakers with the money, and buy a seperate self-powered subwoofer. make good note of you're denon's power output RMS per channel as you shop for your new speakers, and buy speaker wire no less than 16 gauge if it's output is anywhere near 50RMS per channel. either that, or keep your lifestyle system and return your denon to the store before you set fire to your cute little cubes. this is all written assuming you have a complete lifestyle system, if you don't then please elaborate.
