Is there even a way to connect them all together through the TV and have good quality for both HDtv and DVD? I think the problem is the fact that the TV itself has only one HD input. They way we have it set up now, the HD looks fantastic but the quality of the DVDs through the Bose is not so great. The blacks look horrible and has flaring. So, basically, if we want a great DVD picture we have to switch out the input with the cable box. Is this something we're going to have to live with until we get a better TV?

Check the black level setup at your DVD player. There maybe a mismatch with the TV.
Check the DVD player setup menu if there is a "black on" or something similar in picture settings for component. If there is, try both options to see what works best for your TV.
Try also to reduce brightness on the TV for the DVD input.
