What are the best speakers I can get for $100 or less?
I was thinking about either Logitech Speaker System Z523 or Bose Companion 2 Series II. If you have other suggestions let me know or if you would recommend one of these that would be great. Thanks
Well,
I haven't heard the Logitech Z523's before but the Bose Companion 2's are ummm... not great.
I've auditioned them thoroughly... I've also purchased the Bose Companion 5's and tested them for a few weeks.
I'll just give you a few facts about all of the Bose computer systems: also includes their HTIB systems/ $500 Bose wave cd-radio... but here's a few things to consider:
1. NONE of these have TWEETERS. Bose only puts 1 type of drivers in there: 2" twidders. For example: the Bose Companion 2 only has two of these 2" twiddlers: that handle the highs and mids AND LOWS --- all at the same time!!!
In the higher models: HTIB's and Companion 3,5 --- they have a "subwoofer" - but only has 5.25" drivers!!! - everyone else uses 8" or larger in systems this expensive.
ALL DRIVERS ARE MADE OF UNTREATED PAPER.
2. Bose - in all their systems have internal DSP [digital signal processing] circuitry that forces these LACKING drivers to do what they cannot do : who has heard of 2" tweeters made of untreated paper: - then Handling the Mids and lows at the same time??? -
- yes, Cheapo $20 computer speakers do this... but they are $20.
With bose, you do not get what you pay for.
With Bose, your sound: especially music becomes "COLORED" and boosted / synthetic sounding.
Some likes this synthetic sound... but many people likes McDonalds: McD's has served over 75 billion people... BUT THIS DOES NOT MEAN THEY ARE GREAT/HEALTHY/BEST.
Hope this helps!
